Our story begins in the year 1822 exactly 200 years ago. A boy was born in a village in Gujarat to the family of parsi priests named Nusserwanji Tata. He was a restless soul even as child. He wanted to do something great. He went to bombay(Mumbai) at the age of 20 years with his wife and a son child marriage was a common situation at that time so he had his child at the age of 17 or 18 years. After settlement in Bombay soon started running cotton export business. Through that income he ensure to give best education to his son Jamsetji Tata after his education Nusserwanjiย decided to send him to Hong Kong but in the year 1859 air services was not started it takes long time to travel by ships but Jamsetji took his family and went to Hong Kong he settled there and made new offices of cotton there and successed in his life at the age of 65 years he made India’s first steel factory and India’s first 5 star hotel that is The Taj. In 1861 Civil war started in america so america stopped supply of cotton to england it was a great chance for Tata to supply cotton. Jamsetjiย took this a opportunity and sold cotton to england and double rate it was a profit for Tata for 4 years but after four years civil war stopped and America started again to supply cotton to england so Tata gone on a great lose. in the year 1904 Jamsetji Tata died. A great turn in Tata history but Tata doesn’t stop he established its steel plant in 1910 at that time world war I started british need steels to make their weapon. Tata again came into profit by supply of steel tanks weapons and making of railway tracks etc. One of the famous statement came fromย british empire to Tata company that is ” TATA steel saved us”. and by this Tata steel became more popular after a period Tata company goes in the hands of JRD Tata who was pilot and after coming to Tata company he invented Tata airlines later became Air India. It was all about before Independence, before 1947.
After 1947, Air India was taken by Indian Government which broke the heart of JRD Tata but Jawaharlal Nehru told JRD Tata to handle Air India under Indian government and JRD Tata accepted it. In the year 1991, Ratan Tata became the successor of JRD Tata and the chairman of Tata group and bought two luxury car company that are Jaguar and Land Rover. Ratan Tata started making Tata group more wider. in the year 2003 month of november Ratan tata saw a family travelling on scooter in heavy rain so he decided to make a car after five years he invented the cheapest car that is Tata Nano which costs just 1,00,000 and this Ratan tata changed the history of Indian Business and now Tata in ranking at 78 place in the world and the first in India.
